Beginning & End of Blasian Baby Notes

Hey everyone Blasian Baby Notes is now closed but something new has taken it's place.

I know, I know, I dragged things out here for a bit. But I was torn about what to do with this blog for a long time. I wanted to continue blogging but didn't like how becoming famous with this blog changed how I used my voice and focus here.

I also started to feel limited. What I started blogging about in 2008 isn't want I wanted to blog about in 2013. Over the years I have grown as a mother, woman and blogger. I am no longer interested in continuing the constant battles about "what" my son should be "labeled" as.

Ironically it was my son who helped me choose what to do with this blog. He started asking questions about his skin tone and connection to the world. After a few back and forth mini racial themed conversations, my son made his choice on how he saw himself. He's outgrown being a "blasian baby". At least for now. When's he's grown he might want to pick back up certain race labels, but that will be his choice not mine.

For my part, I choose to follow his lead and just blog about him as he is. A little boy growing up in this world. While race will always be there, it's not so much a factor in our lives anymore. At nearly 5 years after his birth, it's clear that he's my son. If its not clear then he'll tell you I'm his mommy. His personality is strong that way.

So what now? Well, a few things.

I restarted my son's other blog but only want to share it with real readers. I know many of you have read my blog for years. I thank you! If you want the updated link to come visit us, please leave a comment with your blog or contact info.

Or you can just email me for an invite - asianblackco @ gmail.com

For those of you still looking for stories about raising a "blasian baby" I have a few "mom" links for you. These days I'm no longer the only one blogging about raising an half asian child. About damn time! Get to know these other families

For PR/Media folks who read this blog, sorry but my new blog isn't PR friendly. If you want me to connect with me about sharing a product or post about your client/brand then please contact me through my other blog The Mommy Factor - http://www.mommyfactor.net

Other then that

Thank you everyone who supported this blog for the past couple of years. While it's the end for this part of my blogging life, it's also the beginning for a new chapter. I look forward to sharing with you again!
